I AM ....
Two of the most POWERFUL words…
for what you put after them
will create your WORLD.
In January of 2013, I wrote a goal down on a piece of paper.
I want to find a life coach.
Not just any coach, but the right coach for me. I wanted to learn a 'better' way to think.
I wanted to learn skills to process my emotions and my life in a healthier and more productive way.
I didn't know exactly what I was looking for, but I knew in my soul there was more that I needed to learn.
I didn't realize exactly what I'd done at the time, but the intention was set and the declaration was made.
The Universe was on it.
Three months later a guy that I didn't know named Steve Hardison walked into my life. I found out that the rest of the world called him 'The Ultimate Coach'. I didn't set out to become one of his clients and initially resisted it. However, it was crystal clear that God had other plans. Steve was absolutely supposed to be a part of my life's journey.
When the student is ready, the teacher appears.
During coaching I started to learn all about the power of the mind and the power of I AM statements.
I learned about the power of declarations and creating my world, instead of reacting to it.
I learned about living from a place of abundance and faith, instead of fear based living.
I learned about the power of surrendering and that what we resist will persist.
I learned about mindfulness and I learned that mindset matters.
I learned about the healing powers of meditation.
I learned about loving and accepting myself exactly as I AM.
And so much more......
While in this rather exciting space of learning and coaching, I had no idea that God was actually giving me the exact tools I needed ahead of time to not only grow as a person, but to literally survive the trial I was about to stare down. In this process, I look back now and can see that He was also perfectly orchestrating as only He can, by surrounding me with some of the world's best coaches and doctors; all of whom contributed a critical piece in helping
me on my healing journey. All of these doctors and coaches understood and practiced this mindfulness
and utilized it in the medicine they practiced.
I was about to get a crash course and real life application of all of these new
principles and mindset tools I was learning.
What I share here in all of my writing are bits and pieces of what I have learned throughout this journey.
An unexpected blessing of such a monumental trial, is the extraordinary learning and education I have received
both in health matters as well as mindset matters.
Do I have it all figured out? No.
Do I practice mindfulness perfectly? No.
Do I get off course and make lots of mistakes? Yes.
But the key for me is that I have the tools to get back on course. I have some tools to get back to my center.
I will always be learning and practicing how to be more mindful. It has changed my life for the better.
In hope and healing,
